I’ve loved collaging since I was a kid, but I’ve had an extra special appreciation for it lately. It’s such a satisfying way to spend time after being on screens for work.

The process is slow and tactile, and it’s a lesson in color and composition—in commitment! Once it’s glued, it’s GLUED. This sort of forced finality is good for me… I too often fall into the trap of the “undo” button or never-ending edit spirals on projects.

Here are a few I’ve created for fun lately. I highly recommend putting on a jam and getting to it.

One night, I got into a five-hour flow of collage card-making while replayingThe Age of Innocence (a great movie with an abundance of beautiful stationary) in the background for when I needed neck stretch breaks. It resulted in many tulips and birds.

Ok, and I do sometimes return to the screen to play with this ongoing stop motion collage (that I may never finish). Here’s a grainy gif preview of it.
